Terms & Conditions

You must agree to the following terms and conditions if you request the services or book studio time.


Book a session

Times and dates are subject to availability and approval. We reserve the right to refuse and reschedule. Reservations can only be made using the following methods: email: mic@sinefactory.com, prisma@sinefactory.com or via the respective social networks. Reservations are not valid until confirmed and any deposit paid.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations and changes to studio reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. If you are more than 20 minutes late for a scheduled session and do not notify us by phone or email, your session is subject to cancellation.

Payments

Any deposits required must be paid before the booking is confirmed. These deposits are not refundable or transferable. The remainder must be paid in full on the last day of the session. Failure to submit full payment will result in retention of all copies of recordings, masters or session files until all fees are paid. If the recording/mixing session is interrupted over a period of time, a payment may be required, either in advance or in installments to cover the time that was used.

Invoices and Receipts

Invoice is issued upon completion of the work. Any receipt will only be issued after payment confirmation.

Online Mixing & Mastering

When the session does not require the presence of the band/artist. After mixing and/or mastering, a link is sent to listen with the download blocked. Once outstanding amounts are settled, they are unlocked for download.

Quality control

Once the mix and/or master has been approved and the audio is used for other media (e.g. music video) we must watch/listen to ensure that the audio has not been altered in any way, before public release in order to rectify any changes that may have occurred.

Breakdowns and damage to studio equipment

Any damage caused to studio equipment due to misuse and/or abuse will be charged to the band/artist.

Personal Items/Lost Property

Please make sure you do not leave personal items unattended and ensure you have all your belongings with you when you leave. Sine Factory is not responsible for any lost or damaged items.

Smoke

Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the recording studio. If you leave the area to smoke, make sure your cigarette butts are disposed of properly in the trash. When leaving and entering the studio, please remember that the main door must be kept closed at all times. Any theft or damage occurring as a result of the door being left open will be the responsibility of the band/artist.

Food/Drinks

You are allowed to bring food and drink into the studio; however, it should not be placed on any of the equipment under any circumstances. Any damage caused to studio equipment due to spills and neglect of food and drink will be charged in accordance with our damage policy above.

Promotion

At no time does any customer have the right to use or authorize the use of Sine Factory or any other professional name or image for commercial purposes, merchandising, endorsement, direct or indirect of any products or services or otherwise, without the prior written consent of Sine Factory.

Social media

Identifying the studio on social media is permitted and welcome. If you are with Michael at the Sine Factory in Aveiro, you can enter the location and tag @sinefactory and @michael.mic.ferreira. If you happen to be with Prisma in Gaia, you can also tag @sinefactory, @prisma.rec and @duarte.prisma.

Backups and storage

After the session, the masters, projects and other files will be stored by Sine Factory for a maximum period of 30 days, Sine Factory is at no time responsible for storing session or master data. Sine Factory has the right to dispose of masters and session data in agreement with the client if the client does not wish to have their sessions stored or backed up. It is highly recommended that the customer provides a storage device as an alternative to temporary storage.

Limitation of people

For the session to run smoothly, the band/artist must limit themselves to bringing only the number of people necessary to the session, that is, family members, girlfriends and friends who do not come to record will only disrupt the normal functioning of the sessions.
